Before the year 2000 we performed an investigation to ensure that our generating sets, test equipment, computers and telephones were year 2000 compliant. We also checked that our suppliers products and processes were year 2000 compliant. The letter presented below was sent out before 2000 to assure our customers and suppliers of our commitment to resolving any potential Y2K issues well in advance of the date change.
Original Letter
We have a programme in place investigating all aspects of our design and manufacturing operation to ensure that we are fully year 2000 compliant.
Our current production range is unaffected since we have never manufactured "Processor" based equipment or used "Real time clocks" with a date facility.
We have also undergone a survey of our major suppliers who have responded in a like manner. This includes the suppliers of our manufacturing and test equipment to assure both ourselves and customers that we will be able to maintain our support in the manner you have requested.
Within our own Company we have already audited all hardware and software being used and are using the opportunity to standardise software used throughout the Company. Hardware and software that cannot cope with the century date change will either be modified or replaced.
